The Scarborough Rotary Club has named the Students of the Quarter for the fourth quarter of the school year.

The Scarborough Middle School Student of the Quarter is Felicia Mazzone, about whom Sokokis Team lead teacher Mark Tardif wrote: “Even though Felicia was a new student to the Scarborough Middle School just this year, she has made a tremendous impact on her classmates and her school community in a short period of time. Not only is Felicia a hard-working student, which sets a positive example for her peers, but she also works hard to encourage others to work to their fullest potential. She has a positive outlook on school and her future in general. Felicia is also a role model for others in the way she stands up for what she believes is right and respects others’ opinions. She seeks out her interest and is an active participant in both in-school and out-of-school activities, including chorus, drama, softball, and ice hockey.”

Calvin Do was given the high school Special Achievement Award. His teacher, Leah Zuch, who teaches English as a second language, wrote: “Calvin is one of the most motivated, ambitious ESL (English as a Second Language) students I have taught. He spends many hours each day after school working on class assignments, writing essays and studying for tests. His impressive efforts this 3rd quarter have earned him a place on the High Honors List. He achieved grades of 94 and above in all his classes. Since his freshman year at Scarborough High School, Calvin has made significant progress in English proficiency, and his level of knowledge and understanding in his second language is constantly improving. Calvin deserves recognition and should be awarded this honor for all his hard work and motivation to succeed. His GPA is 96 for the 3rd Quarter.”

The high school Student of the Quarter will be announced next week.
