The SMAA’s depth is on display as several of the conference’s squads are included in the list of the area’s best.

These games feature some of the top teams, and a few may end up being playoff previews.

One player to keep an eye on from most of the teams in the Press Herald’s coverage area.

Fifteen seniors help make up this list of players who should have productive seasons for championship contenders and playoff hopefuls.

Several matchups between likely regional and state title contenders are on this year’s docket.

The two-time defending champs from Cheverus remain strong, while Biddeford, Freeport, Yarmouth and Gorham are poised to be successful again.

Defending Class A co-champion Joe Hansen of Greely heads the list of top returning players in the Portland Press Herald’s coverage area.
