Class B girls’ basketball: Wells (15-6) vs. Hermon (20-1)

Wells and Hermon are looking for historic wins in the Class B girls’ basketball state championship game.

Senior Franny Ramsdell and sophomore Grace Ramsdell are leading the Warriors to their first state championship game in 41 years.

Many of the teams competing in the state championship games have a chance to achieve historic victories.

Clippers’ title dreams dashed by Warriors, 41-37.

The Warriors defeat Yarmouth, 41-37, in the Class B South championship game.

Capers never lead, go down to 49-36 defeat.

Freeport, Wells and Yarmouth get big plays from big-time players to advance in the Class B South playoffs.

Third-seeded Warriors take out No. 6 Greyhounds, 52-26

Three defending state champs (Oxford Hills in Class AA, Greely in Class A and Boothbay in Class C) will face stiff challenges.

The postseason slate has gotten busier with the addition of dual meet championships, after a girls’ tournament was added in 2019.
