The Senate passed the Safe Sleep for Babies Act, to provide that inclined sleepers for infants and crib bumpers shall be considered banned hazardous products under section 8 of the Consumer Product Safety Act.

The House passed the American Fisheries Advisory Committee Act, to create an American Fisheries Advisory Committee that would advise the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration on grants for fisheries research.
