Track and field: Teams to watch in southern Maine in 2025

The South Portland boys and Scarborough girls are loaded with talent.

Two freshmen and four sophomores comprise the list of players who should play key roles on competitive teams.

These players should be among the best in the southern part of the state this spring.

NCAA Division I commits are among southern Maine’s best players this spring.

These players should expect big seasons at the plate, in the field or in the circle in 2025.

The sophomore ace was dominant in her freshman season, and teams with title hopes will have to go through her and the Stags again.

The bill, LD 1177, would halt any installation of new synthetic turf and also stop renovation of existing spaces.

Each of these players had individual success that begat team success, making them the best of the best.

Players from state champions Windham and Falmouth are included among southern Maine’s best.
