Drake Sechrest, 18 months old, and his family were watching family members use a go-kart when the accident occurred, Maine State Police say.

The accident happened when the 18-month-old boy was watching a family member on a go-kart in the parking lot of Alton Elementary School, Maine State Police say.

The victim, a resident of the town, was not immediately identified by the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office.
