The skier and fisherman with boat-building skills was heartbroken by the passing of his wife, and died 53 days later.

The father of Leigh Kellis was instrumental in making the business take off, and helping to fulfill his daughter’s dream.

A 21-year veteran of the department says, ‘He was fiercely loyal to both to the fire department and firefighters.’

Mr. Cressey, a respected Portland firefighter, was the retired captain of the city’s Munjoy Hill fire station.
