This year’s Moxie Recipe Contest had the most child participants ever. They dominated.
These gifted young gourmands dominated the competition, seizing more than their share of competition glory. Two of the top spots in each category, besides main dish and crowd favorite, were clenched by Moxie lovin’ cooks under the age of sixteen.
They’ve spent all year perfecting their recipes. The secret ingredient? Moxie.
From Moxie bacon-wrapped mushrooms to Moxie-infused bundt and even mango Moxie meatballs, this year’s Moxie Recipe Contest proved that the divisive soda can actually taste mouthwateringly delicious.

The festival will be held July 12-14 and will feature a Moxie recipe contest, a Moxie chugging contest, a car show, a whoopie pie eating contest and more.

Lisbon celebrated three days of peace, love and Moxie starting Friday. Between Friday and Saturday festivities, which included Maine’s longest parade, the festival drew thousands.
