The car driven by Earl Gray is hit by a box truck and pushed into a tractor-trailer near mile 22 in Wells.

The southbound on-ramp near the center of Gray will close Friday at 10, and a new ramp will open early Monday.

All traffic was stopped at about 1 p.m. for roughly 15 minutes, according to the Maine Turnpike Authority.

The ‘Dial #999’ service will provide free assistance to turnpike motorists in need.
