Massachusetts man accused in death of Portland chef denied bail

Christopher Caron, 42, is charged with murder in the death of 27-year-old Declan Perry, of Portland.

The Cumberland County commissioners heard several presentations about the advantages and disadvantages of the jail holding inmates for ICE.

Protesters have called on the county commissioners to end the jail’s contract with the federal government.

The incident took place at the Deering Oaks park playground on Friday, the principal of King Middle School wrote in a letter to families.

Aziayh Scott has pleaded not guilty to manslaughter in the death 22-month-old Quayshawn Wilson in 2024.

The incident started around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, when a Skowhegan police officer was checking a residence for a 21-year-old facing several charges.

The order comes after a 2-day hearing in August focused on whether Marcel LaGrange can participate in his own defense.
