Update on Covid-19 situation in Scarborough provided recently

The Town Council and town manager offered updates and advice for residents of Scarborough during the Covid-19 pandemic on April 1.

The online resource hosts daily Zoom meetings and resources for local business owners affected by Covid-19.

The charity organization Scarborough Buy Local is looking for creative ways to help local businesses through this difficult time.

The interest rate on unpaid property taxes as of March 16 is now 0 percent through July 16; end date could be extended.

The organization is partnering with other groups to help the community during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Council Chair Paul Johnson said that Scarborough will be moving to online meetings in the month of April.

Gyms and fitness centers have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, forced to close until April 1 as a safety precaution.

Online services are available for Scarborough residents on the town’s website or on the State of Maine’s website.

Superintendent Sanford Prince announced on March 20 that Scarborough Public Schools will be closed through April 26.

The library is offering remote services to the public while shut down.
