Southern School Notebook
The South Portland High School marching band won a gold medal at the Maine Band Directors Association Marching Band Finals on Oct. 27. This was the seventh consecutive gold medal for the band, which is directed by Craig Skeffington. Ten bands from throughout the state competed in the finals, held in Old Orchard Beach.
