Rankings show Maine’s hospitals are safest in the country

A watchdog group says most Maine hospitals, including Lewiston’s CMMC, get an A grade for patient safety.

Jeff Brickman said Lewiston-Auburn will get a new urgent care center by the end of the year, but he did not provide details.

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services will not pull funding June 30 as threatened.

Fitch Ratings said the group of borrowers is small enough that the credit quality of one member is a potential problem.

The hospital has until June 30 to fix its issues to the satisfaction of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
