Maine man killed in New Hampshire crash along I-95

The man was rear-ended twice after an earlier crash left his vehicle with at least one partially deflated tire, police said.

A little more than a half-mile stretch, between Burnham Road in Gorham and Gorham Road in Scarborough, had been closed Tuesday evening.

The bystander was trying to help a driver who had hit a tree.

The man was hit near the intersection of Fore and India streets.

Four vehicles were involved in a chain collision near mile marker 39, closing southbound lanes for several hours.

The driver of the other vehicle was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Two cars collided head on after one crossed the center line Wednesday, the sheriff’s office said. One car rolled and caught fire.
