L.D. 1487: An Act To Implement Managed Care in the MaineCare Program
This bill, sponsored by Republican Sens. Roger Katz of Augusta and Thomas Saviello of Wilton, would expand Medicaid coverage to between 60,000 and 70,000 Mainers earning as much as 133 percent of the federal poverty level at just over $15,558 a year for an individual. Though the bill passed in both chambers, the approvals fell short of the two-thirds majority that will be needed to override an expected veto by Gov. Paul LePage.
