Thacher Carter covers general news for Brunswick and Freeport. After growing up in York, Maine, Thacher graduated in 2020 from St. Lawrence University, where he earned a degree in English and Environmental Studies. Before beginning at The Times Record, Thacher worked four seasons for the Appalachian Mountain Club's High-Mountain Huts in the New Hampshire White Mountains. Thacher now resides in Portland.
