Girls’ soccer: A lot for so little
The Falmouth High girls’ soccer team didn’t end Yarmouth’s unbeaten streak Tuesday night, but did put a blemish on the Clippers’ record.
The teams played to a scoreless tie, ending Falmouth’s four-game losing streak in a Western Maine Conference game.
“It was a very well-played game by both teams,” Yarmouth Coach Rich Smith said. “It was pretty even, actually.”

Portland Pirates 5, Checkers 1:Jhonas Enroth makes his point
Portland Pirates goalie Jhonas Enroth was unhappy with his performance Saturday night in a 6-5 victory against the Manchester Monarchs in the season opener.
The slightly built goalie from Sweden showed exactly how well he can play Monday afternoon.
Enroth stopped the first 42 shots by the Columbus Checkers to lead the Pirates to a 5-1 victory before a small Columbus Day crowd of 2,621 at the Cumberland County Civic Center.
