Kevin Thomas
Kevin Thomas does not always write about baseball. It just seems that way, starting with his early days covering spring training for the St. Petersburg Times, to his current role of bi-locating at both Hadlock Field and Fenway Park, reporting on the Portland Sea Dogs and Boston Red Sox. In the off-season, he still writes about baseball, while venturing to hockey rinks and basketball arenas, especially when it comes to the University of Maine and local colleges. Thomas has received awards for his work, but his greatest prize is home, which includes one patient wife, nine children and an aging chocolate Labrador.

On Baseball: Shuffling on up, shuffling down: That’s the Sox
BOSTON – With Clay Buchholz ready to rejoin the Boston Red Sox, Felix Doubront is headed back to Triple-A. Doubront has pitched well enough to merit a return, allowing a total of seven earned runs in his three starts. There are two things the Sox should have Doubront focus on in Pawtucket: Fielding. Relieving. Doubront’s […]
On Baseball: Struggling Sox can’t have a struggling Wakefield
BOSTON – Signs of their fate are all around them. The health-challenged Boston Red Sox have placed extra lockers in their clubhouse. They normally are used when rosters expand in September, but are needed now for all the players filling in for the injured. And in the crowded clubhouse, players and media spread out to […]
