Kevin Thomas
Kevin Thomas does not always write about baseball. It just seems that way, starting with his early days covering spring training for the St. Petersburg Times, to his current role of bi-locating at both Hadlock Field and Fenway Park, reporting on the Portland Sea Dogs and Boston Red Sox. In the off-season, he still writes about baseball, while venturing to hockey rinks and basketball arenas, especially when it comes to the University of Maine and local colleges. Thomas has received awards for his work, but his greatest prize is home, which includes one patient wife, nine children and an aging chocolate Labrador.

Crawford feeling OK
Carl Crawford said his recent groin strain is not a setback and hopes to resume his rehab assignment this week.
On Baseball: Nothing special: That’s the Sox this season
BOSTON – Dustin Pedroia sat with teammates Cody Ross, Jarrod Saltalamacchia and Nick Punto in the Red Sox clubhouse before Game 1 of Saturday’s doubleheader against the New York Yankees, talking a little trash. “These guys (stink),” Pedroia said to reporters, pointing at the trio. “They can’t get in the lineup.” There were laughs and […]
On Baseball: Red Sox a team of mystery
BOSTON – They began the night with plenty of All-Stars on the roster. Not only did Boston have American League designated hitter David Ortiz, but Mauro Gomez, Justin Germano and Pedro Ciriaco were International League selections this season. International League, as in Triple-A, as in What Are They Doing Here? Not only were the Pawtucket […]
