A tractor trailer took out a utility pole and brought down power lines in Westbrook on Warren Avenue and Cumberland Street Tuesday morning, snarling traffic at one of Westbrook’s most heavily traveled intersections.

Delays are expected until at least 4 p.m. Tuesday as crews from Central Maine Power repair the damage, the Westbrook Police Department said.

Main Street is closed at Lamb Street, and cars are backed up as officers direct traffic in the area. Motorists are being asked to avoid the area.
