A 48-year-old Westbrook man has been arrested on an arson charge for allegedly setting fire to four large trash bins behind the Lowe’s store on Brighton Avenue in Portland on Wednesday night.

Arrested was Bobby L. Wright Jr., of Main Street in Westbrook.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the flames, and after investigators interviewed witnesses, Wright was arrested on Middle Street in Portland.

The investigation is ongoing, and police are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or who has information about the fires to call Portland Police at 874-8575.
