A 26-year-old Portland man was arrested Wednesday evening after he allegedly assaulted an Uber driver.

Seth Crockett was charged with simple assault following his arrest shortly before midnight, said Portland police Lt. James Sweatt.

Crockett, who appeared intoxicated at the time, got into a verbal altercation with the driver, who pulled over near Washington Avenue and Canco Road, Sweatt said.

The driver was struck in the abdomen, and refused medical treatment.
