Mark A. Rockwood Jr.

BRUNSWICK – Mark was born to Mark and Paula (Litchfield) Rockwood on Sept. 27, 1984, in Weymouth, Massachusetts. The family moved to New Brunswick, Canada in 1999, and then to Brunswick, Maine in 2003.

He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps., at the beginning of his senior year of high school and served faithfully from 2004-2008 when he was honorably discharged. He was proud of his service and loved his fellow Marines; especially the ones he served with in Iraq. His commitment to his brothers did not end when he left the service, they all knew that they could call on him day or night.

He was a loving son, protective big brother, proud uncle, and loyal friend. He cherished being known as a “funcle”, who prided himself in giving the best gifts to his nieces and nephew. Family was everything to him.

He enjoyed the outdoors; hunting, fishing, walking trails, and disc golf. He was a well-rounded reader with various interests and affectionately known as a “vault of useless knowledge”!

Mark is survived by his parents Mark Sr., and Paula of Brunswick, sister Erica Iles and husband Cory of Topsham, sister Meagan Rockwood of Brunswick, nephew Oliver Iles, nieces Norah and Elowen Iles, and grandfather Norman Rockwood of Frostproof, Fla., and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
