Lloyd F. Martin Jr.

RAYMOND – Lloyd F. Martin Jr., 78, of Raymond, died unexpectedly Tuesday evening, Oct. 7, 2025 in his home in Raymond.

He was born on April 13, 1947, in Lewiston, the only son of Lloyd F. and Gloria (Cressey) Martin Sr. Lloyd attended Raymond schools as a young boy and went on to attend North Yarmouth Academy where he graduated from. His secondary education was at Fort Lauderdale College where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree.

A veteran of the U.S. Army, Lloyd served with the 4077 unit as an attachment to the medical unit during the early 1970’s in Korea as a food inspector.

His work within the Army was in line with what his lifelong career was after the service. Lloyd worked alongside his parents in their business, L.F. Martin & Son Wholesale Grocer in Raymond. His wife, Annis (Gendrolis) would also work in the business with him, which they built into tremendous success providing food to many local boys and girls camps during the summer and schools during the winter. After the business’ sale to Jordan Foods and later Sysco, Lloyd and Annis stayed on in sales and continued the legacy of “small town customer service.”

Lloyd loved to bass fish and more recently motorcycling. Hunting in the fall and skiing in the winter were also favorite pastimes. He and Annis had the good fortune of spending many winter weekends at their home at Sugarloaf where he volunteered as a safety ambassador for the mountain. He also loved to travel, and he and Annis just returned a couple of weeks ago from a cruise to Alaska.

He is loved by Annis of Raymond; children, Lloyd “Marty” Martin III and his wife, Malissa of Raymond and Bryon Newcomb and his wife, Shannon of Poland; grandchildren, Caleb Martin, Payton Hutchinson, Jack Hutchinson and Layla Martin, Liam and Karis Newcomb; great grandchildren, Hudson Martin and Sumner Hutchinson. He was predeceased by his parents.

Private family interment will be at the Riverside Cemetery in Raymond. Arrangements are in the care of the Hall Funeral Home, 165 Quaker Ridge Road in Casco where condolences and tributes may be shared at http://www.hallfuneralhome.
