Kevin Forest Mains
FREEPORT – Kevin Forest Mains, 67, of Freeport, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, Oct. 3, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on April 2, 1958, in Brunswick to the late Ralph and Phyllis (White) Mains, Kevin was a man who truly lived life to the fullest. He began working at Bradbury Mountain while still in school and went on to graduate from Freeport High School in 1976. Kevin devoted 45 years to The Dingley Press as a paper room supervisor, retiring happily in 2020.
Kevin had a deep love for the outdoors. He could often be found on his boat, fishing, hunting, or enjoying the thrill of a good NASCAR race. But more than anything, Kevin cherished time with his family, especially his grandchildren, with whom he shared countless adventures and memories. Known for his kind heart and generous spirit, Kevin left a lasting impression on everyone lucky enough to know him.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Cindy; his children, Bobbie Jo Stuflick and Steve Newell; and his grandchildren, Mya Stuflick, Kylie Stuflick, and Ava Newell. He also leaves behind his sister Cindy Blake and her husband Mark, brother Kirk Mains and his partner Robin, sister-in-law Joyce Dorrington, brother-in-law John Beane and his wife Cindy, many nieces, nephews, close friends, and his faithful four-legged companion, Ruby Rose.
Kevin was predeceased by his brother Rusty Mains and sister Belinda Thurlow.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Kevin’s life on October 26, from 1-4 p.m., at the Durham Amvets Hall.
Arrangements are in the care of Stetson’s Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 12 Federal Street, Brunswick.
