Irene Louise (Poole) Livada

PORTLAND – Irene was born Oct. 3, 1928, in Portland, Maine and spent most of her youth years growing up in Cape Elizabeth, Maine. She died Sept. 19, 2025.

Irene had a strong business sense and got into the marketing research field, where she excelled, resulting in her and her business partner opening their own business called Marketing Research Unlimited. We have so many fond memories growing up spending time with her in her office testing new products. Irene got her pilot license and she and the love of her life, Archie Livada, spent a lot of time flying in the air together. She loved to travel, and you could often find her and Archie jet-setting around the world seeing new countries and gaining new experiences.

Irene loved to cook, bake, knit, sew, play bridge with her girls and read books. She enjoyed swimming and taking long walks around the promenade and spending time with family. She truly was the best Nan anyone could ask for, she loved her grandkids and great grandkids, and we loved her right back. She will always be remembered for her kind ways, beautiful smile, and how she made so many people feel so special. Irene was truly one of a kind and will be missed and celebrated by many.

Survived by her loving children, Sandi Imbriano and Stephen Guertin; her grandchildren, Nicole Imbriano, Benjamin Guertin and his wife Angela, Zachary Guertin an his wife Karen, Samantha Guertin Trant and her husband Allan, Stephaine Guertin Lehn and her husband Austin; great-grandkids Dominic Perry, Julian Perry, Charlie’s Jablonski Jr., Theodore Guertin, Harrison Guertin, Amelia Trant, Henry Trant, Trexin Lehn, Oliver Lehn, Haley Nalen, and Eli Guertin.

She was predeceased by her parents Edward and Louise Poole; her brother, Edward Poole; her loving husband, Archie Livada; and her oldest granddaughter, Tiara Imbriano.

As extra special “Thank You” to Cathie and Luc, Judy, and Andrea for taking such good care of her over the last two years. You filled her time with fun adventures and creating special friendships. The care, love, and support you showed Irene, and our family will forever be appreciated.

Our family would like to express our sincere gratitude for all the kind words and memories shared. Rest in the sweetest peace, Nan. We love you forever.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, Oct. 11, Inn by the Sea, Cape Elizabeth, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
