A Gorham school bus and a car collided Wednesday and three people were taken to the hospital as a precaution.
The crash happened about 10:30 a.m. at the intersection of South Street and Morrill Avenue that leads to Gorham High School.
“There were three students, one ed tech and the driver on the bus at the time,” Gorham Superintendent Heather Perry said in an emailed statement. “No serious injuries were reported although the driver of the bus, the ed tech and the other driver involved were taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure.”
Gorham Deputy Police Chief Michael Nault said the bus driver was Christopher Cousin, 48, of Gorham, and the driver of the other vehicle was Andrew Quinn, 21, of Wakefield, Massachusetts, who was alone.
Nault said three Gorham High School students were evaluated by EMS on the scene and released to their parents.
Perry said all families with children on the bus were notified.
The cause of the crash is under investigation and being reconstructed by Gorham and Windham police departments. Mutual aid was provided by the Westbrook, Standish, Buxton and Windham fire departments.
