GRAY – Terry Jane (Pease) LaCarrubba, 60, of Gray, passed away on Aug. 24, 2025.

Terry made every single person she spoke to feel special and comfortable. Her home on Spruce Drive, where she was raised, was home to all.

Born Oct. 26, 1964, she spent her birthdays giving back to others. A Halloween queen, she went above and beyond with decorations and treats for the community, while yearly pumpkin carving parties brimmed with people, games, and joy. Every jack o’lantern was awarded an individualized “best of” category, thoughtfully crafted on the spot by the queen herself.

A driven athlete and loyal teammate, Terry excelled at basketball, field hockey and softball at Gray-New Gloucester High School. Playing driveway basketball with her brother, Toby, toughened her up, turning her into a beast on the board!

Terry was courageous and adventurous. After working at Pineland and attending UMaine Orono, she explored the U.S. with her best friend, Valerie. She then went to Key West, Fla. where she met her now ex-husband, Michael. They traveled to Alaska together, before settling down in Gray. This was Terry’s motto: go for it, and whatever you do, just own it.

Terry was positive, carefree and happy. When she entered the room, the party started (and she reveled in hosting gatherings over the years). She loved her friends and family deeply, offering her undying loyalty, support, and a “judgment-free” zone. Her laugh was loud, unapologetic, and contagious. Her children Angelina and John were her pride and joy and there was nothing she wouldn’t do for them. She inspired her children to chase their dreams, no matter how big

Above all, her energy made even the most mundane situations magical. She spent her final day at her favorite place in the world, the beach.

Terry is survived by her children, Angelina LaCarrubba (Jacob Reilly), and John LaCarrubba (Abby Bailey); mother, Jane Pease; father, Earle Pease (Beverly); siblings Toby Pease (Dawn), Torianne Pease, Tracy Murphy (Jayson), and Tyson Pease; and several nieces and nephews; numerous friends; and her two dogs, Bella and Lola.

Visiting hours are 4 to 7 p.m. Sept. 1, at Wilson Funeral Home, 24 Shaker Rd., Gray. A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date. To view Terry’s memorial page or share a condolence, please visit https://www.wilsonfhllc.com.
