Lisbon Community Federal Credit Union’s Basket Raffle broke its fundraiser’s record this year with 51 themed prizes. All proceeds benefit the Campaign for Ending Hunger.
Raffle tickets are on sale through Sept. 4 and are available to both Lisbon Credit Union members and the general public. Winners will be drawn on Sept. 5. Tickets are just $1 each or seven for $5.
Baskets are on display at both Lisbon Credit Union locations (Lisbon and Lewiston), and tickets can be purchased in person at either location. A sample of the baskets offered this year:
• $5 Uncirculated Bills Basket – For the first time in history, two women’s signatures appear on these Federal Reserve Notes — uncut and uncirculated $5 bills in a collector-worthy presentation.
• Sweet Tooth Basket – From Maine Gourmet Chocolates: handmade pistachio bark, thin mint bark, orange Needham’s, penuchi fudge, chocolate-drizzled pretzels and a spicy crunch mix for a flavor-packed experience.
• Bling in Bloom Basket – A jewelry tree adorned with stunning handcrafted gemstone bracelets by Victoria Lajoie Handcrafted Jewelry, featuring citrine, amethyst, tiger eye, garnet, carnelian, peridot and labradorite.
• Catch ‘Em All Basket – An angler’s dream from Pine State Sports Supply, loaded with hooks, lures, bobbers, tackle and premium braided fishing line.
• Get Busy Gardening Basket – Donated by Bush’s Bushes Landscape Nursery, this gardener’s bundle includes $250 in gift certificates, top-tier tools, fertilizers and a sturdy wooden trellis.
• Disc Golf Package Basket – Donated by Dr. Disc Golf, this pro-level set includes a Discover Disc Golf backpack, Maine-themed cap, Birdie Bag by INNOVA, Dr. Disc Golf marker and eight high-quality discs to cover all your throwing needs. Perfect for seasoned players and newcomers alike.
“This event is one of our favorite traditions,” Sarah Perkins, president/CEO of Lisbon Community FCU, said in a prepared release. “Every basket represents the generosity of our members, local businesses and staff — and every ticket purchased helps us fight hunger right here in our communities.”
