NORTH PRINCE GEORGE, Va. – Marc Lee Pettengill passed away in his sleep on June 7, 2025.
He was born on Sept. 2, 1984, at the Mercy Hospital, in Portland, the son of Walter Lee Pettengill and Sharon Ann (Desjardin) Pettengill. He graduated from South Portland High School class of 2002.
In 2006, Marc moved to Richmond, Va. where he’s resided for the last 20 years. Marc worked for Siné Irish Pub for nearly 20 years. He adored every patron that became a friend and lived every day with the purpose of brightening someone else’s. He was a member of a Richmond, Va. based band “Missing One”.
He was predeceased by his mother, Sharon Ann Pettengill; and his
grandparents, Leon and Paulita (Wheel) Desjardin and Donald and Elizabeth (Harding) Pettengill.
He is survived and lovingly remembered by his father, Walter Lee Pettengill and his wife, Lucie; his sisters Lori Bedor (Walter Scott), Amy
Tupper (Dave Miller), Jennifer Pettengill (Nathan Boor), Kelly Gonzalez
(Marco), and Jessica Tilton. He adored his nieces and nephews Kyle, Nathan, Ashley, Alex, Elizabeth, Kaylee, Sydney, and Wakefield; as well as several aunts, uncles; and cousins; and his closest friends Dave Adams, Tom Roewer, Pat Young, Cole McMannus; and his former wife, Chelsea Baine and the Baine family of Richmond, Va.
There will be a celebration of life at the Portland Elks Club on 1945 Congress St., from 12 to 4 p.m. on Aug. 31. He will be buried at 11 a.m. at Brooklawn Cemetery Sept. 2.
