OWENSBORO, Ky. – Joyce De Ann Eaton, 78, of Owensboro, Ky. passed away peacefully on August 10, 2025, under the compassionate care of the Heartford House – Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Kentucky. She was born on March 31, 1947, in Lexington, Neb., to the late Doyle and Elaine Hemphill.
Joyce dedicated over 40 years as a payroll supervisor at Maine Medical Center in Portland, where she was known for her strong work ethic and attention to detail. She was an ATV enthusiast and loved adventure and outdoors. Joyce was also an avid knitter who took great joy in creating sweaters and afghans for her grandchildren. She had been a proud member of The Mermaids, a swimming club that brought her great friendship and fulfillment. Joyce was a member of Clearview Baptist Church in Leitchfield, Ky. and was delighted to participate in many church activities.
In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by brothers, Jay and Jimmy Hemphill.
Those left to cherish her memory is her husband of 23 years, Michael Eaton; children, Michael DeCesere (Lisa) and Michelle Jaynes-Nadeau (Jason); siblings, Janice Knecht (Ken), Jerry Hemphill (Marilyn), June Hemphill, and John Hemphill; grandchildren, Will, Juliana, Tabitha, Alyssa, Jenna, and Colby; seven great-grandchildren; as well as many other loving family and friends.
