Atlanta-based blues master Tinsley Ellis makes his way to Boothbay Harbor this summer for his first appearance at the historic Opera House.

Rolling Stone magazine wrote that “his feral blues guitar and non-stop gigging have sharpened his six-string to a razor’s edge … his eloquence dazzles … he achieves pyrotechnics that rival Jeff Beck and Eric Clapton.”
On Friday, Aug. 22, Midcoast audiences have a chance to hear this bluesman. Ellis has brought his music to fans throughout the U.S. as well as in Canada, across Europe, Australia and South America. He has earned the respect of many of his fellow musicians, having shared stages with Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, The Allman Brothers, Warren Haynes, Oliver Wood, Buddy Guy, the Tedeschi Trucks Band, Gov’t Mule, Widespread Panic and more. Over the years, legends including Otis Rush, James Cotton, Gregg Allman, Jimmy Buffett, Son Seals, Koko Taylor and Albert Collins have invited Ellis to join them on stage. Mega-star guitarist Joe Bonamassa called Ellis “a national treasure.”
Advance discounted tickets to hear Ellis are $25 and on sale now at the Opera House box office at 86 Townsend Ave., or by calling 207-633-5159.
