According to a news release, Crowe is based in New Hampshire and Maine and has been honing his art since childhood. He began with a game of scribbles — taking a scribbled drawing and turning it into a character. From his imagination, Crowe went on to develop his technique by creating different groups of paintings that focused on one skill in particular.

His first series centered on mouths and teeth. He experimented with realistic and imaginary creatures, light and dark, large and small and always bold, vivid color. He is currently working on a series of flower characters to investigate emotion, even going so far as to have some characters that show emotion without any faces at all.

During the long winter months, Crowe is a professional Freeski coach and travels with his team globally, helping them prep for high level events with the goal of the 2026 winter Olympics. When he travels, he sketches to create new ideas to bring home to the canvas.

The public is invited to view the exhibit in Speers Gallery Aug. 1-30 at 112 Main St., Kennebunk, during regular library hours when the gallery is not in use for library programs. For current hours and gallery access, visit www.kennebunklibrary.org.
