KENNEBUNK – Jonathan “Jon” Bangs was born in Boston and raised in Nahant, Mass. He graduated from Groton, Harvard, and Georgetown Law, and served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He practiced law for over 50 years, including work in affordable housing and as Nahant’s Town Counsel.
Jon married Beverly Scott in 1980, and they raised three sons, James, Ben and wife Caitlin, and Will and wife April. He adored his five grandchildren, who called him “Grumpy.” Jon loved his dogs, bird hunting, yard work, and dancing to “Johnny B. Goode.” He was active in the Kennebunk community and spent winters in Naples, Fla.
A Celebration of Life will be held on July 12 at the Church on the Cape, 3 Langsford Rd., Cape Porpoise, at 11 a.m. Afterwards there will be a reception at Webhannet Golf Club, 26 Golf Club Dr., Kennebunk.
