SARASOTA, Fla. – Douglas LeRoy Cyr was born July 13, 1938, in Houlton, Maine, and passed away peacefully on June 13, 2025 in Sarasota, Fla. at the age of 86.
He leaves behind Sandra (Deal) Cyr, his beloved wife of 22 years; son, Peter Cyr (Pauline Northwood), daughter Heidi Cyr (Christoph Ohngemach), stepdaughter Lisa Deal-Nagler, stepson John Deal; grandchildren Anya Cyr-Ohngemach (Kevin Xie), Margaret Cyr-Ohngemach, and Brodie Deal; as well as former wife, Gretel Graf and siblings Linda (Cyr) Buttach and William Woodward.
He was predeceased by his parents, Donald Cyr and Doris (Carr) Woodward, and his beloved uncle, Francis Carr.
The Rite of Christian burial will be on July 7 at 9:30 a.m. at Incarnation Catholic Church in Sarasota, Fla. Ashes will be interred at Sarasota National Cemetery at 10 a.m. on July 17.
