Jean Guy Peloquin

BIDDEFORD – Jean Guy Peloquin, 93, born in Biddeford on Aug. 27, 1931, died Tuesday April 1, 2025 at Southern Maine Veterans home in Scarborough. Guy was the “twin” son of Arthur and Blanche (Gagne) Peloquin, of Biddeford where he grew up, and graduated from St Louis High School. Guy continued on to enlist in the Navy and served on the RUSHMORE LSD 14.

After his military service, Guy went on to have a long career in the supermarket business. He owned and operated his own local neighborhood store called “Guy’s Market” for many years. He then joined Martin’s Food Center as a produce manger. This then became Shop ‘n Save, owned by Hannaford Bros, where he worked at several locations. He then went on to Paul’s Food Center where he was a store manager. Finally, he worked at Vic’s Appliance in Saco until his retirement.

In retirement Guy loved reading books and enjoyed playing golf, and even worked at Dutch Elm Golf course as a ranger for many years. He also loved going to the casino and never stopped talking about the trip to Vegas.

Guy was also a member of the St. Louis Alumni for 75 years and loved to volunteer at the weekly Bingo games. He also belonged to the Knights of Columbus for many years.

Guy was an incredible man who was loved by anyone who knew him. He made so many friends through his local store and years at local supermarkets. You really missed out if you didn’t have the opportunity to share his unique kind-ship and personality.
