Stevan “Cal-Kid” Allan Bonney

SCARBOROUGH – Stevan “Cal-Kid” Allan Bonney, 63, of 92 Gorham Road, Scarborough, passed away Tuesday Feb. 18, 2025, at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough after a brief battle with cancer. His son Tucker was by his side.

Stevan was born in Greenville, S.C., with his identical twin brother and womb-mate Scott to Col. Charles A. Bonney, Jr. USAF and Elizabeth Tuck Bonney on July 18, 1961. Stevan’s dad was so proud to be having twins, but his mom had to gently remind him that he determined the gender and she determined how many. Needless to say, they were thrilled.

Stevan graduated from Scarborough High School in 1979. He enjoyed playing basketball but especially being on the golf team with his twin brother all four years as Co-Captains together.

Stevan traveled extensively throughout the continental United States, and abroad in the Far East with his family during his beloved dad’s military career. On one station in particular on the Island of Guam he and his twin were introduced to the game of golf by their father. So began their love for the game. Later in life while perfecting his game with his twin brother Scott, it was Zip who taught the twins about “The Great White Shot”. Stevan went on to win two club championships at Willowdale Golf Course. He was very fond of Willowdale but a “Riversider”, he was. He had many friends he played with but his best partner was his twin Scott because when they played together “Twinning was Winning”.

Stevan worked at the “Old Port Tavern” as a bartender and Manager for many years. During that time, he worked with the “Quad”, his twin Scott, Knuck and Vickie and many good times were had. His most recent job was working at the Double Tree as a Banquet Captain with Danielle his righthand co-worker and dear friend.

Stevan’s biggest achievement was having his son Tucker and spending time with and talking about his “Little Man” to family members, friends and co-workers. The light of his life.

“If the round should start without me because I have passed away, cherish the swings we had and please continue to play.

For I’ll be watching from a gallery with a magnificent view, with friends and family from the past all cheering for you.

May each tricky putt find the hole and your drives fly far and straight, and when you’ve taken your final shot, let’s meet at the Pearly Gates.

I’ll have a tee time booked in Heavan on the Grandest course of all and we will go golfing once again chasing that little white ball”.

Stevan was predeceased by his father Col. Charles A. Bonney, Jr. Ret USAF, mother Elizabeth T. Bonney; and brother Charles A. Bonney, III. Stevan is survived by his son Tucker Bonney of Scarborough and Saco and Tuckers mom Jade Weiss of Saco; a sister Betty Bonney of St. Mary’s, Ga., his identical twin brother Scott Bonney and partner Dena Drinkwater of Old Orchard Beach, sister Cheryl Colonna and husband Mark Colonna of Portland; a niece Erin Bonney of Connecticut; a great niece Ashley Bonney of Connecticut.

We want to acknowledge the unwavering support by Danielle, Phil, Rick as well as all of the nurses, care givers and entire staff at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House.

There will be no visiting hours. Funeral services will be private.
