A man who was hit by a train and brought to the hospital with life-threatening injuries on Thursday afternoon has died.
Portland police identified the man on Friday as 42-year-old Christopher Scott of Freeport.
Scott was hit by a train behind Gilman Electrical Supply on Saint James Street in Portland around 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Portland police said. He was brought to Maine Medical Center where he died on Friday.
The Portland Police Department, the Amtrak Railroad Police and CSX Rail are investigating the crash. No charges have been filed, according to authorities.
