Enid Mary (Marshall) Thoms
April 20 1937 – Sept. 27 2024
Enid passed into the arms of Jesus very peacefully at her home in Florida.

Her husband, Arthur Thoms, was talking to Enid and he asked her if she would like to hear some Christmas carols.
Enid did not answer, but her eyelids flickered. He sang “Silent Night,” “Oh Little Town of Bethlehem” and “Joy to the World.” As he sang, he felt he heard her sing a beautiful alto harmony. He stopped singing when the aide came in to administer her pain medication, but her breathing had stopped and the aide said, “It’s over.”
Enid will be buried in the Marshall lot in Evergreen Cemetery , Kennebunk, next to her parents and brother Sandy.
Services were held previously.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
