A man was killed in a head-on crash in Lebanon on Friday evening that also left three others injured.

York County sheriff’s deputies responded to the crash in the area of Long Swamp and Lord roads in Lebanon at around 6 p.m.

The sheriff’s office said Daniel Dempsey, 39, of Lebanon, was behind the wheel of a Mazda driving south on Long Swamp Road and crossed into the opposite lane, striking a Dodge pickup truck traveling north.

Dempsey was pronounced dead at the scene. Dempsey’s passenger, Christina Gagnon, 44, of Berwick, had serious but not life-threatening, injuries, York County Sheriff William King said.

The driver of the Dodge and a passenger – identified as William Long, 22, of South Berwick, and Jenna Dixon, 20, of Berwick, respectively – both sustained minor injuries, King said.

Gagnon, Long and Dixon were all transported to hospitals.

King said investigators believe alcohol, speed and reckless driving all contributed to the crash, which is still under investigation.
