As a retired senior and longtime resident of Cumberland, I am writing to wholeheartedly endorse Christina Mitchell for State House District 110 representative, serving Cumberland, Chebeague Island and Long Island.
Mitchell seeks to understand opposing views and has the skill and experience to collaborate and apply that understanding to address the complex issues faced by our community and state. She will work across the aisle to develop fact-based approaches to legislation.
Her experience as an educator and SAD 51 school board member, as well as her track record of advocacy for reproductive rights, gun safety, environmental protections, compassionate measures to mitigate the opioid crisis, resources to support our aging population and workforce development, demonstrate that she is the right candidate at the right time to serve as our representative.
Please join me in voting for Christina Mitchell for House District 110 on Nov. 5.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
