Deering High scored three touchdowns in the first five minutes Friday night and breezed to a 35-13 victory against visiting Westbrook in a Class B South football game at Memorial Field.

Tavian Lauture scored on a 10-yard run, then threw TD passes to Corbin Burke from 3 yards and Elijah Stewart from 19 as the Rams (5-1) opened a 21-0 lead against the Blue Blazes (0-6).

Joey Foley broke free for an 85-yard run in the second quarter to make it 27-0 at halftime.

David Mbuyamba scored for Westbrook on a 3-yard run in the third quarter before Foley answered from 2 yards in the fourth.

Westbrook’s Hunter Hall had a 29-scoring run in the final minute.

PORTLAND 35, BANGOR 7: Cordell Jones scored three touchdowns in the first half, leading the Bulldogs (5-1) past the Rams (1-5) in Bangor.

Jones bulled into end zone twice in the first quarter from the Wildcat formation, from 1 and 9 yards. He set up the first TD with a 39-yard run, and a botched handoff by Bangor led to the second touchdown.

Bangor’s quarterback Kyle Johnson answered with a 6-yard TD run in the second quarter. But Jones then turned a screen pass from Louis Thurston into a 41-yard touchdown that gave Portland a 21-7 halftime lead.

Thurston ripped off a 48-yard touchdown run in the third quarter, and Aidan McGowan scored from the 1 in the fourth.

CAPE ELIZABETH 21, LEAVITT 14: Brady Inman ran 12 yards for the go-ahead touchdown early in the fourth quarter, lifting the Capers (3-3) over the Hornets (2-4) in Cape Elizabeth.

Cape never trailed, though Leavitt twice erased seven-point deficits.

The Capers grabbed the lead on a 45-yard run by Eli Halter in the first quarter.

Leavitt tied it in the second quarter when Keegan Reny scored from the 1. Cape answered with a 13-yard touchdown pass from Inman to Aidan Connolly with just over a minute remaining in the first half, but Leavitt then drove the length of the field, capped by Brock Poulin’s 6-yard run as time expired.

MASSABESIC 38, BIDDEFORD 0: Cam Bradbury passed for a touchdown in the first half, and had rushing TDs of 5 and 42 yards in the second as the Mustangs (5-1) pulled away from the Tigers (2-4) at Biddeford.

Bradbury connected with Caden Nielsen for a 20-yard scoring pass in the second quarter. Cam Bouchard opened the scoring with a 12-yard run in the first quarter, and Kyle Abbott and Michael Pelletier each rushed for a touchdown in the second half.

MARSHWOOD 52, GORHAM 24: Cody Bubier rushed for four touchdowns, and the Hawks (3-3) pulled away in the second half to beat the Rams (2-4) in Gorham.

Bubier scored on runs of 15 yards in the first quarter, 33 yards in the third, and 49 and 4 in the fourth. He also rushed for a conversion.

Ryan Essex added two TD runs – 7 and 36 yards.

Gorham quarterback Garrett Poulin threw two short touchdown passes to Jack Karlonas, Casey Skolfield ran 5 yards for a TD, and Thomas Coleman returned a kickoff 77 yards for the game’s final points.

KENNEBUNK 42, CHEVERUS 10: Sam Haley passed for four touchdowns as the Rams (6-0) extended their winning streak to 10 games by defeating the Stags (2-4) in Kennebunk.

Haley hooked up with Max Andrews for two TDs, from 8 and 45 yards. Jaiden Homa caught a 30-yard scoring pass and Austin West had a 28-yard touchdown reception.

Brady Stone and Maddox Ralls each added a TD run for the Rams, who are ranked No. 4 in the Varsity Maine top 10.

Matt Baker scored on a 3-yard run for Cheverus, and Devin Kelly kicked a 29-yard field goal.

OLD ORCHARD BEACH 52, SACOPEE VALLEY 14: Wes Gallant accounted for four touchdowns – two rushing, one receiving and one passing – as the Seagulls (6-0) eased past the Hawks (4-2) in Hiram.

Gallant had TD runs of 54 and 5 yards, then threw a 52-yard pass to Trot Moody. He capped his big first half with a 70-yard reception from Moody as Old Orchard built a 40-0 lead.

Riley Provencher scored two touchdowns – a 10-yard pass from Moody and a 60-yard run. The Seagulls’ final TD was a 2-yard run by Daniel Cashman.

Sacopee avoided a shutout by scoring two touchdowns in the fourth quarter – Ayden Fisher’s 10-yard run and a 5-yard pass from Tyler Easterbrooks to Maxwell Tripp.

BOYS’ SOCCER

WINDHAM 2, PORTLAND 1: Sam Rogers scored his second goal of the game with 10 minutes left as the Eagles (9-1-1) edged the Bulldogs (8-2-1) in Portland.

Rogers got his first goal, assisted by Luke Cuniffe, in the 10th minute. Ronan Mas answered with a free kick just 20 seconds before halftime.

Lukas Hammond made 10 saves for Windham. Portland keeper Marco Cifuentes-Robles stopped seven shots.

CHEVERUS 1, MARSHWOOD 0: Henry Huntley scored in the first half, and the Stags (4-7) blanked the Hawks (5-5-1) at South Berwick.

WESTBROOK 3, NOBLE 0: Ithiel Mulumba had two goals, Carson Cote also scored, and the Blue Blazes (6-4-1) handled the Knights (2-6-2) in Westbrook.

Mulumba collected a turnover deep in the Noble defensive zone, dribbled toward the middle of the goal and chipped a shot past goalie Hunter Michaud (10 saves) after just 14 seconds.

With about six minutes left in the half, Mulumba collected a throw-in by Zach Chau near midfield, dribbled down the right sideline and tucked a shot inside the right post for a 3-0 lead.

Cote got the second goal, finishing a short pass from Junior Yala in the 6-yard box in the 24th minute.

Jason McCarthy stopped three shots for Westbrook.

SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 3, WISCASSET 1: Wyatt Foss, Jonathan Hines and Braydn Fournier scored for the Phoenix (4-8) in a win over the Wolverines (2-7) at Jay.

Jevar Garricks scored for Wiscasset.

BIDDEFORD 4, BONNY EAGLE 2: Bencao Garcia scored twice to pace the Tigers (7-5) to a win over the Scots (1-11) in Standish.

Alexandre Keto scored for Biddeford, and the Tigers were aided by an own goal.

Gavin Saucier and Arlo Libby scored for Bonny Eagle.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

TRAIP ACADEMY 2, WAYNFLETE 0: Avery Bouffard scored in the first half and Keira Alessi added a second-half goal as the Rangers (9-1-1) defeated the Flyers (4-6-1) in Kittery.

Bouffard put in a direct kick from 25 yards in the 26th minute. Alessi drove a shot past Waynflete keeper Rachel Yordon (five saves) in the 62nd.

Lily Stuart stopped seven shots for Traip.

FIELD HOCKEY

FRYEBURG ACADEMY 1, WELLS 0: Addison Valente scored late in the third quarter to lift the Raiders over the Warriors (2-9) in Fryeburg.

Haley Littlefield assisted on the goal.

Fryeburg overcame a standout performance by Wells goalie Emily Finch, who finished with 19 saves.

OAK HILL 3, MORSE 0: Grace Behne scored twice as the Raiders (3-8) won in Wales.

Kayleeann Stevens got the other goals. Madalyn Sikora and Chloe Bolduc each added an assist.

Lydia Brown made 15 saves for Morse (2-9).

THURSDAY’S BOYS’ SOCCER

YARMOUTH 5, MT. ARARAT 0: Zacarias Binda scored twice as the Clippers (8-1-2) defeated the Eagles (5-4-1) in Yarmouth.
Gideon Ahrens, Luis Cardoso and Nate Buchanan added a goal apiece.
