Shaker Village is offering a class on creating a wall-mounted needled felted deer head with local artist Gabrielle Stratmann of Bug-eyed Co. on Wednesday, Sept. 25, from 10 a.m. to noon.

Needle felting is the process of tangling wool fibers by repeatedly stabbing wool with a small barbed needle. It is a fun, meditative fiber art perfect for creating animals, miniatures and ornaments.
Attendees we will learn the technique of sculpting and layering to create the details needed to create each part of the deer head, including the funky antlers. Instruction includes mounting the deer head to wood so it can be displayed.
Cost is $90-$95. Register at maineshakers.com/event/felted-taxidermy.
