Nearly 400 participants negotiated the heat and humidity on the evening of July 12 and took part in the Kennebunk Free Library 27th Edition 5K. The race featured entrants from 12 states, British Columbia and the District of Columbia. Kennebunk resident Steve Fritzche took home first place overall with a time of 17 minutes, 19 seconds. Kevin Greene, of Kennebunk, finished second in 18:50. The women’s champion was Maggie Tripp of Hollis Center. Tripp, 17, finished 10t

Caden Dussault, of Arundel, and Maggie Tripp, Hollis Center, ran to top 10 finishes in the Kennebunk Free Library 27th Edition 5K. Tripp topped the women’s field and was 10th overall. Dussault placed ninth overall.
