PORTLAND – Steven A. Marsh, 69, of Portland, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2024 in the Memory Care Unit of Sedgewood Commons in Falmouth.
He was born on Oct. 30, 1954 in Marlborough, Mass., a son of Lynette and Richard Marsh. He attended and played football at Framingham State University, earning an All-New England 1st Team honor before pursuing a successful career in management and sales. Known for helping launch the sports brand, Nike, in its early stages, he was eventually recognized as “Salesman of the Year” in 1990, and continued their growth for over 30 years.
“The challenge is to be better than yesterday.”
Beyond a successful salesman and respected manager, a tackle for the New England Patriots practice squad, an occasional bodyguard for the rock band, Aerosmith, an avid sports fan and coach, a loving son, brother, devoted husband, father, and friend – Steven “Biggie” Marsh will be remembered by all as the big man with an even bigger heart.
He married Christine L. Schantz on Oct. 15, 1983 in Walpole, Mass.
Surviving with his loving wife, Chris, one son and daughter-in-law, Taylor W. Marsh and Alanna Watson, of New York City, N.Y., and two daughters and two sons-in-law, Hayley L. and Josh Palazola, of North Hampton, N.H., and Hannah L. and Peter Jadovich, of Boxford, Mass.; and two grandchildren.
A private burial service will be held in Portland. There will be no calling hours.
