I have emailed Rep. Joe Galletta asking him to withdraw from the Republican primary for House District 98. By running for reelection, Galletta insults everyone in this district with his self-indulgent hubris.

House District 98 is in desperate need of someone who will actually fulfill the requirements of the office, which is to represent the citizenry. Galletta has failed miserably with his perpetual absence; his current attendance record for roll call votes is 33%. As a private business owner, how long would Galletta accept this abysmal attendance record with his staff?

The question, of course, is rhetorical because the answer is self-evident.

As a society, we would never accept nor survive a 33% effort from our students, pilots, surgeons, military, law enforcement, athletes, etc. Why tolerate this in our politicians? What parent would want their children to emulate behavior such as Galletta’s? Politicians are not conscripts; they run for office voluntarily.

I’ve made numerous attempts over the past year reaching out to Rep. Galletta, House Republican Leader Faulkingham and Assistant Republican Leader Arata. My concerns were met with apathy or simply ignored. This country was founded upon representative government, serving your fellow citizens is a privilege. Rep. Galletta is a self-serving politician whose only concern apparently is ambition.
