York police have found the body of a 76-year-old man who had last been seen Wednesday morning.

Jerry Allen was last seen at the York American Legion on Route 1 around 11 a.m. Wednesday, police said.
His body was found around 2 p.m. Thursday, York police said.
The medical examiner’s office was notified and the investigation is ongoing.
York police said there is no threat to the public.
Investigators believe that Allen left his house on foot sometime during the daylight hours. He did not return home, and his car and personal belongings were left at his house, police said.
The Maine Warden Service had joined the search along with the York Fire Department.
