Jeanette Marie Douglas

WINDHAM – Jeanette Marie Douglas passed away at the age of 67 on Aug. 29, 2023 after a long battle with many health complications.

She was born on July 10, 1956 to Geneva Leighton-King-Larrabee and Donald King in Portland. She attended Westbrook schools for her early education, then later attended Southern Maine Community College for accounting, where she met Alfred Douglas, whom she later married.

During her career, she worked at Maine Medical Center and Macy’s. She loved going to the beach, Bingo and doing fiber arts, especially quilting and knitting with her friends.

She is survived by her husband, Alfred Douglas; her children and stepchildren, Theresa, Jesrie, Eben and Tiffany, Ian, Heath; grandchildren, Yisra, Tristan, Wyatt, Garrett, Thorin, and step-grandchildren; siblings Diane, Danny, Donna, Rusty and Shawn; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her siblings David and Ruth Ann.

A short burial service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 28 at 10 a.m. at Brooklawn Cemetery in South Portland. The larger celebration of life potluck will be held in her honor the same day at 2 p.m. at the North Scarborough Grange located at 74 County Rd. in Scarborough.
