Slide right into American’s favorite pastime by grabbing tickets to see our Sea Dogs battle the New Hampshire Fisher Cats. Friday night will end with a bang as there will be a fireworks display immediately following the ballgame. Local first responders will be recognized before first pitch on Sunday, and kids are invited to come dressed as a first responder (EMS, firefighters and police). Rest assured, Hadlock Field won’t run out of Sea Dog Biscuits, so choose your game and have a fun time cheering on every strikeout, golden glove moment and wall-ball double.

‘Halfway There’

For some funnies in Falmouth head to The Footlights Theatre for the comedy “Halfway There,” written by Canadian playwright Norm Foster. The Footlights version was modified to be set in the town of Moose River, Maine, where everyone knows everything about everybody. Gossip is dished out at the local diner as the tight friend foursome of Vi, Rita, Mary Ellen and Janine are confronted with the arrival of a sad doctor who has taken a clinic job in the seaside town. Expect to shed tears of both laughter and sorrow in the intimate theater.

‘Honest Vision: A Portrait of Todd Webb’

Head to the Portland Museum of Art on Sunday to see a screening of Huey Coleman’s documentary “Honest Vision: A Portrait of Todd Webb.” Stick around after for a Q&A session with the filmmaker. “Honest Vision” unpacks the life of Webb (1905-2000) who is a significant American photographer. During it, you’ll hear Webb share some of his stories and see many of his black and white captures of scenes in New York and Paris during the ’40s and ’50s. PMA’s exhibit “Outside the Frame: Todd Webb in Africa” runs through June 18.

‘The Thief of Bagdad’

Plant yourself in Congress Square Park for the kickoff screening of nonprofit film organization Kinonik’s Sunday night silent film series. “The Thief of Bagdad” is from 1924 and stars Douglas Fairbanks as Ahmed, who thieves his away around Bagdad. Lots of drama and adventure unfold around a beautiful princess’s several suitors, including Ahmed who must go to great lengths to prove his worth after a life of crime. You’ll be in the center of it from your spot in downtown Portland.
