WESTBROOK – Donna Louise Smith, 85, died on May 7, 2023 at Pinnacle Health and Rehab at South Portland.
Donna was born on Jan. 31, 1938 to the late Edward and Idella (Hillock) Jensen in Westbrook. When Donna was younger, her family owned a store that became a very popular gathering place for friends and neighbors. Later, the road that connects Longfellow Street and New Gorham Road was named Jensen Lane, after the family. This is where all of the girls got their start and helped their mother over the years. She graduated from Westbrook High School. She married the love of her life, Phillip Smith.
During her life, Donna worked as a factory worker for many years. She enjoyed puzzles, going out to eat, especially at The Village, and shopping for anything and everything. She also loved watching TV and movies. Donna was a member of the Universalist Church in Westbrook for many years. She was chosen president at the nursing home for her unique personality and dry sense of humor. While at the nursing home, she was cared for by a kind and helpful group of health professionals.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Phillip; sisters Barbara Smith and Beverly Jensen.
Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Paulette (Buzz) Mahoney; great-nieces and nephew, Grace (Liam) Flaherty; as well as many other loving family and friends.
Services are private. Arrangements are under the direction of the Conroy-Tully Walker South Portland Chapel. To view Donna’s memorial page, or to share an online condolence, please visit http://www.ConroyTullyWalker.com
